Make sure you push it all the way in to the socket – This is a great accessory! I can charge my iPhone 13 while using it for navigation and music connected to my Cardo Packtalk Bold. At first, I thought the TecMate Optimate was disconnecting intermittently. Then I realized I had not pushed it into the BMW R1200GS handlebar area socket. Once I corrected this, it worked flawlessly through some mighty jolts riding on very rocky mountain passes.

Best adapter – I have had several different adapters, all gave me problems not staying connected or during rain, they allowed water to get in the connector. This one is solid, just got back off a 3000 mile trip, worked great, even during 3 hour rain period.

Most compact & best waterproofing – The Optimate is fairly compact so turning handlebars won’t hit it. The two plugs appear to provide good waterproofing & a USB cable feels very snug in the rubber gasket. The plug has a blue power light – useful.
