Worked great until I lost it – I’ve seen people complain about the strap. Wear the strap or you’ll probably lose this on the road.

Good shoe shift pad – While I think this is a good shift shoe pad and secures better than most, I feel its too much of pain to be worth the time/effort putting on/taking off.

Worthwhile *Consumable* item, it will last long if you make it – I use it to keep wear off my $280 riding boot.. of course it’s not going to last forever, the band will wear out from pavement contact eventually. Im writing this as I replace the one I had two months. You get a lot longer life out of this if you just put some adhesive on the velcro when it wears /out frays etc. Set it how you want and glue the strap (not to the boot) and it won’t ever come apart. Only reason I’m replacing it now is because the elastic has worn enough to where it won’t stay where I want it (although I could cut the strap and reglue it shorter, just going to replace it).

It slips off fairly easy – When riding it functions as expected, but if you get off the bike and take more than 10 steps it starts to slip off your boot/shoe. I’ve used it a few times with a few different pairs of shoes/boots and the problem is consistent. The strap really only serves as a mechanism to not loose it on the freeway if/when it does slip off.

The straps that hold it in place are not that sturdy and stable – For 10 Dollars this thing will do the job, it’s not going to do it absolutely amazing, you paid 10 bucks it will do a 10 dollar job.

Poor design; quickly close to useless – I am a moderate cycle rider meaning in four months since returning to motorcycles, have ridden about a dozen times, total, and have put about 1700 miles on my bike. The point is, very little riding time. Most of these trips, not all, but most, I’ve used the ridbike shoe protector on the toe of my boot. It was clear to me on my last ride, that the design flaw is fatal to the even “short” term use of the pad, much less the long term! The ridbike cover attaches to your boot several ways. By a shoe string attachment, an elastic band that goes from the front of the boot to the back, and finally, the most important attachment, is the velcro strap. The strap is the problem. When attached, the bottom of the velcro strap is on the sole of your foot.
