Great for chrome. – So far so good. Already had an x-mount on a KLR650 with the older ball that does a number on your handle bars. On a KLR I don’t care. But for my chromed cruiser bike I didn’t want anything to mess up the chrome. This has worked great. I’m able to move the x grip from bike to bike in seconds. So no need for another phone holder. Just another ball. Also works on anything you can get the clamp around. So it’s maybe the most versatile ball mount they make. I would get it again. There is vibration for sure. But my phone is secure and I can see my Waze easily.

Sturdy mount, holds really well on a pipe. – Really easy to mount on a circular surface – pipe, tube, rod. It doesn’t take much space, however, the clamp grips the tube really well, due in part to its rubber coating. One little inconvenience I’ve found is, it takes some time to use it on large diameter tubes – the user has to spread the jaws sufficiently wide for the tube to pass through. (IMHO, this is because the tightening screw has a fine pitch.) However, if the user ignores such inconvenience, (s)he is rewarded with a secure grip on the tube. The other use is on an edge, for example, the edge of a table. Here, again, the user ends up with a secure grip. All in all, this is a great gripping claw. If only the mechanism would work a little faster!

i use daily. – I use this clamp daily holding my iPad to all different kinds of stuff. i use a ball extension of course and the holder for the iPad. The clap works great for attaching to all kinds of things and also works to make a free standing holder for the iPad. I attach this to the steering wheel in my car (not to be used while driving), i attach it to a bar in my airplane to use iPad with aviation maps, i attach this to my desk and it works great in all of these situations. I have tighten and removed thousands of times.. Very high quality materials they use for these. I have bought different sizes also but for most everything i just use the smaller size.

Perfect solution for a C172! – This has wound up being the perfect solution for mounting my iPad mini in a Cessna 172! I like using ForeFlight in the cockpit for planning routes, looking up frequencies and other airport info, terrain avoidance info, jotting down quick notes and clearances, and general situational awareness. I find ForeFlight to be much quicker to interact with than the G1000 for most quick tasks. While I was using a RAM suction mount to mount the iPad on the side windshield glass, just to the left of the instrument panel, I much prefer using this to mount it to the yoke!

Better but not perfect clamp – This is much better than the yoke clamp I previously had, to hold my iPad Mini on the yoke of my airplane. This is more compact, with less “stuff” sticking out to snag. I discovered 2 glitches, however:
