Basically plug and play – I just literally plugged it into the wires of the old 12v and it works great. Yes, you need that in-line fuse imo.

Great upgrade for your old useless cigarette lighter – I installed this in my F-150’s old cigarette lighter plug. If you want to get fancy you could install a control switch as the LED backlighting is on all the time (as the cigarette plug circuit is always hot). Anyways, this works excellent and keeps my apple and droid phones topped off. I actually have one of the QC usb plugs to go into my wireless cradle charger and it works great.

Wouldn’t Purchase – Installed on my H-D Road Glide Special inner fairing. During my last trip, I had to use duct tape to keep phone USB cable in place. Would not buy because of quality—loose USB contact slots. Only used on a couple trips. It’s wasn’t my chords.
