Pads are definitely not hard-shell protection, but they’ll work – I got to say, this is a very nicely made jacket. Definitely not a $300+ dollar one but for the price, I’m a definitely satisfied. Things to note, the pads are literally just pass, they’re not hard-shell bit they’ll do their intended job. Zippers are not of highest quality but they are good enough. Liner does come out pretty easy, but the pockets are a little on the small side. Reflection is very good especially for night cruises. Adjustments on sleeves are easy and hold well. I’m about 5’6-7″ and 215 lbs and I ordered a XXL fits pretty good, I was a little worried. All in all good jacket for the price. As far as the water resistant, not so much, I tested a small area with a few drops out of a cup.. didn’t bead off but more absorbs. But I ain’t trying to be out in the rain too much anyway and if I get caught in some I’d most likely pull over and wait it out. If you’re on a budget this is definitely bworth the price with compromise

– This is my second HWK motorcycle jacket, and the first one is still in perfect shape after a year of riding. I’m 5’10” and 185lbs and the XL fits perfectly. Heavy material, armor on the shoulders, elbows and back, good heavy zippers and a zip out lining. If I had to pick out anything I didn’t like it would be that the pockets aren’t very deep and the arms are a tad too long, but the Velcro cuffs on the wrist make up for that. My son paid over $300 for his motorcycle jacket and I now have 2 of these for half that price. And they don’t look cheap either. If you’re looking for a great motorcycle jacket without being fleeced by name brands this is it.

I’m suprised and impressed. *NOT WATERPROOF* – *Update: I stood in the backyard for less than 10 minutes in the rain and it soaked through almost immediately. NOT WATERPROOF AT ALL. That’s OK though, still love the jacket and pants.

It’s super comfortable – It’s starting to get into the colder months and I needed a good jacket to keep me warm and feel protected. I had a Bilt 2 Techno Jacket that I used for the summer months but I needed something that would keep the cold air out, and this absolutely does it! I’ve been riding for 4 years now and my first ever jacket was the neon yellow one, which I still own! It works good still but the velcro no longer sticks on the wrist and the years of me Driving to work in the logging woods and wearing it daily, it took in some oil stains. I finally needed an upgrade in my motorcycle gear and I was eying motorcycle jackets in the $200+ range but my budget wasn’t going to let me. This is absolutely the best value for your money! I ride all year around even in the low temperatures in east texas.. I ended up buying the pants as well and they fit right over my work pants. There’s a zipper that connects the two and it makes it more convenient putting them on and taking them off. I’m 5ft 8 and 185 pounds and a 42 inch chest, and the Large fit spot on with a little room to layer underneath without feeling too baggy. Go HWK keep up the good work!
