Won’t fit a phone in a case – Phone too thick. No case, no problem. Sorry gotta keep the case. Lose the holder

Heavy for a bicycle but so far doing its job – The aluminum casting frame is solid…and heavy. The pivot bolt stays tight as long as you position it so the weight of the phone torques it clockwise (righty tighty). Otherwise it’s lefty loosey. The handlebar clamp arrangement is worry free. My phone is an iPhone 8 Plus with a case. The phone clamp opens wide enough but the phone case may be too thick for the fingers of the clamp to grip over the edge of the case. We’ll see. I now see in the questions section that 0.47 inches is the recommended (by someone) maximum thickness. My case is 0.52. It didn’t come loose on my first bumpy ride though (on a Salsa gravel bike). If things go well after a week or two I may upgrade the product to 5 stars. If my phone falls on the road, well….

Good mount. – Well made and not hard to install. Only complaint is that it doesn’t hold my phone properly. I have an otterbox case and it wouldn’t reach enough to the front to actually reach around. Instead it just clamps to the sides of the phone and I can tell by the way I can wiggle it out that the wind and vibrations would knock it lose.

A really beautiful thing. – I didn’t take any pictures or anything. But it is a beautiful piece of metal. Only problem is you can only get a really thin phone on it. So I have ordered a really thin phone case. Don’t know if that will work yet since I just got it yesterday. But Amazon really wants me to write a review. So now you have that review for what it is worth which is probably not a lot because I have not experienced this item yet.

Mount does not work well with a phone that has a thick protective case – The mount is made well, looks good and is sturdy. BUT, I can not use my MOTO G7 plus phone in it when I have the protective case on it . The mount would be much better if it could fit thicker phones ! I do not feel comfortable putting my phone in it without the case, plus its a hassle to take the case off everytime I want to mount it on my bike.

Works good – Works good holds phone very secure. I have 2. 1 mounted on our Kawasaki Vulcan and the other on our Suzuki boulevard. Only negative is that it’s not deep enough to use my otter box case I have to remove the case and it works well. Very easy install and gives u alot of adjustment to position however you like.
