Wired to switch GROUND instead of HOT – After an hour with a 12v battery pack and multimeter, I finally figured out what was going on with these switches—They are configured to (bizarrely) switch GROUND instead of HOT. In order to make it switch the load and illuminate only when ON, you have to rewire the connections on the back of the switches. Here’s how I did it: BROWN can stay where it is (supply voltage, +12v). BLACK gets moved to the terminal it’s currently jumpered to (NEXT to BROWN, instead of across from it(LED ground), and BLUE (+12v switched) gets jumpered to where BLACK was, directly across from BROWN.
