Great Quality, Design, Comfort. Works Well, Not For Extreme Noise – These earmuffs are absolutely the best I’ve tried yet. They’re the 4th pair I’ve tried in a very short period of time. The others were broken, cheap, or very painful to wear. They squeezed my head like a vice.

Nice headphones – They do a decent job of blocking noise. I have hyper sensitive ears and I can’t use low grade hearing protection. These are pretty good and feel good on the head.

Like being in a vacuum! – I bought this to deaden the sounds five young kids make living in the apt above. Obviously you can’t sleep with them on but for other solitary endeavors they are great. My only ding on these is their ability to muffle low frequencies like kids walking heavily across the floor above. It’s better with them on though! They are also the best ones I’ve found for my large ears as there’s substantial depth to the cups even though they initially appear small. Recommended!

Great for a shared office setting – I do software programming, and I use the X5As in a shared office setting. The X5A is the best passive noise cancelling earmuff I’ve ever tried, and I’ve tested a lot of brands. They work well when used alone. In addition, if you use them with Bose active noise cancelling earbuds underneath, or with regular foam earplugs underneath, you will have a true impenetrable cone of silence. Voices don’t get through at all, nor do any other sounds, low or high frequency.

May be a bit big, but definitely the best on the market – Don’t get confused by other ear muffs or the like that claim higher noise reduction, none of them work as well as the 3M Peltor X5a. Have recommended it to friends and family, and I’d recommend it to you as well.

Great hearing protection – I had an old pair of over the ear ear muffs that didn’t provide much in terms of hearing protection and purchased a pair from Lowes as well that left more to be desired. These were a great purchase and block out the noise level very well. I am not using them around a ton of loud equipment mainly wanted something to drown out the noise of the riding lawn mower and various lawn and garden equipment while also being comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. These are both comfortable and have enough foam inside the muffs to drown out the noise to an acceptable level. Not sure if they would be great in a construction environment with heavy machinery but I imagine they would do fairly decent.
